This film tells the story of a girl named Katie Price, whose life is limited because she has had a rare disease from childhood to adulthood, namely Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP), a disease that makes her unable to feel sunlight from morning to evening. Katie only lives with her father, Jack. Because her mother died in an accident when Katie was little, which made her live alone with her father and her best friend, Morgan.
Katie secretly likes a man she sees every day behind her bedroom window, namely Charlie. Until they finally met and had a relationship, they were very happy when they met and spent time together only at night, like going around town, dancing and other activities, but Katie could only go out at night and told Charlie that during the day she was always busy. And that's how the problems started, because Katie didn't tell Charlie about the illness she was suffering from until he was late in their meeting.
After Charlie found out about Katie's illness, Charlie remained beside Katie to fight the illness. Until Katie had a request to feel the sun from childhood and Charlie complied with Katie's last wish by sailing in the middle of the sea to see the sunset. Then in the ending, Katie died because the disease had taken her life.
Comment about this Film
Overall I rate this film at 8.5/10. It's a good film to enjoy with family, but without children because this film only for 13 years old and over. the storyline is a bit cliche and predictable like previous films which tell the love story of someone, one of whom experiences life trials that hinder his daily activities and meets someone who can solve them. the day. However, what's interesting about this film is that almost the entire setting takes place at night, considering that the story is about a girl who is infected with Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP) and cannot feel sunlight. and also the strong chemistry between Bella (Katie) and Patrick (Charlie) made me as a viewer satisfied with the story. and also this story is touching with scenes between a child and a father that are very close and emotional, and supporting with backsounds that make the atmosphere even more broken.
And this film teaches how important it is to appreciate the time you have, and spend your time with anyone who is important in your life because not everyone can have that much time before it becomes a deep memory.
